PNG to JPG, in your browser
PNG is a lossless format — perfect for logos, screenshots and anything with sharp edges or transparency. But for photographs, PNG files are often several times larger than they need to be. Converting to JPG shrinks them substantially with no visible quality loss, which is why JPG remains the default for sharing and uploading photos.

About transparency
JPG can’t store transparency. When your PNG has transparent areas, Mynify places them on a clean white background during conversion. If keeping transparency matters, convert to WebP instead — it’s small and supports transparency.
When to use it
- Photos saved as PNG — convert to JPG for a much smaller file.
- Uploading to a form or site that wants JPG — many older systems only accept JPG.
- Emailing images — JPG attachments are lighter and universally supported.
For non-photographic graphics with flat colours or crisp text, PNG (or WebP) usually looks better and stays small — JPG suits photos best.
