Get the words out of a PDF
Need to copy the text from a PDF into a document, search it, quote it, or feed it into another tool? Mynify extracts all the selectable text into a plain .txt file — right in your browser, with nothing uploaded. That privacy matters when the PDF is a contract, a statement, or a confidential report.
How it works
Mynify reads the PDF’s text layer page by page and concatenates it into one clean text file. Because it reads the actual text (not an image), the output is accurate and instant — no re-typing, no copy-paste page by page.
The one requirement: real text
This tool works on PDFs that contain selectable text — anything exported from Word, Google Docs, a browser, or most PDF creators. It won’t work on scanned or photographed PDFs, which are just pictures of text; those need OCR to read the characters. If you can highlight text in your PDF viewer, this tool will extract it.
When to use it
- Quoting or reusing content from a report or paper.
- Searching a document your viewer won’t let you search.
- Feeding text into a summarizer, translator or spreadsheet.
Tip
Want a short version instead of the full text? The document summarizer turns a long PDF into a concise summary.
